　長らく、日本人は総中流（ミドル）と言われてきましたが、時代は変わりました。高所得者と低所得者の二極化が鮮明になってきました。

　　
　『ロウアーミドルの衝撃』（初版　2006年1月25日　講談社）は、＜今や、日本人の８割が「中流の下」以下。社会の地殻変動が始まった！＞という帯が示すように、好むと好まざるとにかかわらず、意識せざるを得ない社会が到来しつつあります。

　かなり深刻な問題を含んでいます。ロウアーミドルの一人として、また自分自身の問題として考えさせられた本でした。

今の日本には１４００兆円の個人金融資産があるのだから、金利を上げたほうが景気は良くなる。金利を下げるのは、銀行や一部の企業を救済する、これまた提供者の論理だ。

１％金利が上がれば、個人部門の収入は１４兆円増える。常識的な４～５％の金利が維持されれば、年間５０兆円～７０兆円ものカネが市場に出てくる。政府部門のできるどんな景気対策よりも効果が大きいのだ。
